About me

I’m PK, a graduate student in the Seidemann lab at the Institute of Neuroscience, University of Texas at Austin. I am interested in visual cortex computations that enable visually-guided behavior with the help of optical read-and-write techniques.

Currently I study how the primate visual cortex encodes stimulus information at the columnar-level. To this end, I investigate if a columnar-level encoding scheme in primate V1 is sufficient to generate percepts that guide behavior, using simultaneous calcium imaging and optogenetic stimulation.
